START WITH WHAT YOU ALREADY RUN

One workflow.
A better way to run it.

You bring the task and the quality bar. Start there, then compare how different approaches deliver the same complete result.

01

Bring your workflow.

A document to extract. A reply to draft. Start with one task your app already runs.

02

Set your quality bar.

Define the checks a complete result must pass. Keep those checks the same for every approach.

03

Find the better route.

Compare models and task designs by the cost of a result you can use. Count retries and failures, too.

Same task. Same quality bar.
A clearer way to measure value.

FROM COST PER CALL TO COST PER OUTCOME

You need results.
Measure what they cost.

A cheaper call is only useful if it does the job. Include every retry and failed attempt, then divide by the results that pass your checks.

What are you paying for a result?

Your numbers. Calculated in your browser.

Include retries, failed attempts and fallback calls.
Count each original task once, even when it needed retries. A task can contribute at most one accepted result.

THE OUTCOME METRIC

Cost per accepted result

—

Enter your totals to calculate the cost of a result that meets your rules.

Cost per task

—All original tasks

CPM

—Per 1,000 tasks

Total spend ÷ accepted results. Calculated from your inputs.

The same shift as CPM → CPA in advertising. Measure what you get, not just what you process. Here, CPM means cost per 1,000 tasks; an accepted result passes the checks you define.

BEFORE YOU START

A few things
worth knowing.

Why measure cost per accepted result?

Lower model prices can be offset by more retries, failures or rejected outputs. Divide total workflow spend by the results you actually accept to see the economics that matter.

Who decides what a good result is?

You define what a good result looks like. Only complete outputs that pass those checks count. For a business outcome such as a sale, track the downstream conversion.

What can I do today?
